The UK Wolf Conservation Trust in Berkshire is a non-profit making organisation and works tirelessly for the conservation and protection of wild wolves and their rapidly declining habitats. This is achieved through education, awareness and fundraising for large carnivore projects in Europe and around the world. Since 1995 the trust, a charity, has donated over £120,000 to these projects. By attending this photography workshop you will be pleased to know that a minimum of £50 of your fee will go as a donation to the trust in supporting their fantastic work.
Three Distinct Species
Currently this is the only place in the UK where you can see Arctic, European and North American wolves at one location. Actually getting in to see them isn’t that easy as the trust is not open to the general public, in fact there are not even any road signs to direct you to its location. So it is vitally important that when you receive my photography information sheet that will include the directions that you print it off and put it somewhere safe, I would suggest perhaps your camera bag?

| American Grey Wolf taken in Yellowstone 2005 |
Take it from me this is a unique opportunity to get up close and photograph some truly awe-inspiring animals like the portrait shot above, an image I have sold many times as well as being one of my favourite limited edition prints.
We will see three different species of wolves at the trust and they are housed in large open enclosures that provide opportunities for some very natural images. There is a large gravelled path around the enclosures that allows good viewing. Also a raised platform extends the photographic possibilities giving great views of the wolves generally behaving as you might see them in the wild (if you should ever get that lucky)!
Walking with wolves
At some time during the day you will be invited to go out for a walk over open farmland with some of the wolves on leads and I guarantee you will never get closer to one of these charismatic animals. It really is a once in a lifetime, breath taking experience. During the walk you will actually be allowed to handle the wolves (under supervision) and take some really superb photographs or video.
Please note that this image was taken in Yellowstone NP USA and not at the Wolf Trust. Although I have visited the trust and walked with the wolves, something I will not forget in a hurry, unfortunately there was another function on and consequently I did not have the opportunity to take photographs.
